Senior Associate Elder Law Attorney
Senior Associate Attorney Nathan Simpson joined Cooper, Adel & Associates in 2011 as a member of our Medicaid Team. Nathan especially enjoys meeting with families with special needs children to plan their estates to preserve assets for their future needs. Nathan has a personal mission to inform seniors, who are often unaware, about benefits that may be available to help them pay for long term health care, and to determine how they can legally obtain benefits at the earliest point possible with full disclosure. Nathan is also there for them when the going gets tough, as evidenced by his experience in administrative hearings and appeals on behalf of his clients. Nathan meets with Medicaid and Trust clients in our Monroe and Sidney offices.
Nathan has presented informational seminars for seniors around Ohio regarding about crisis planning. He is also a contributing author to the book, Over the Hill and Under Obamacare. Attorney Simpson is among a select group of attorneys in the State of Ohio who have been admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals For Veterans Claims in addition to receiving accreditation from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Nathan graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University, majoring in both History and Political Science. He graduated with his Juris Doctorate from the University of Cincinnati, College of Law, where he was an Urban Law Fellow and a member of Law Review. Nathan is a member of the Ohio State and the Cincinnati Bar Associations.
Nathan and his wife live in Cincinnati where they are actively involved with Special Olympics. They have one cat, Harper, who follows them around their 90-year-old house as they restore it. Nathan’s wife, Ashley, is well-loved around the office for her perfect, beautiful Christmas cookies.
