Associate Elder Law Attorney
Attorney Christopher Orr joined the statewide Elder Law practice of Cooper, Adel & Associates in 2017. Chris assists families who have lost a loved one. He understands that this is a difficult time for our clients and that the estate administration process, particularly when probate is involved, can be overwhelming. As a member of the Estate & Trust Administration Team, Chris’s mission is to settle estates as quickly as possible. In doing so, he seeks to assure beneficiaries that their loved one’s wishes are followed and to inform all parties throughout the process. He also works with surviving spouses to ensure that their estate plan is in order.
Chris received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo Law School where he was the Executive Editor of the law review. His article about the Fourth Amendment and cell phone tracking was published in the law journal. During law school, Chris was a legal intern for both the Sixth District Court of Appeals and the Northern District of Ohio US District Court.
Chris joined the Army in 2001 where he served as a team leader and squad leader in a military police unit. He was given a top security clearance with the Department of Defense and served in South Korea. Chris maintains his ties with the military through pro bono and community outreach for veterans.
Chris grew up in Dresden, Ohio. These days, he lives in Newark with his wife, Stacy, their Aussie rescue dog and their lazy, loyal beagle. Chris is an avid athlete who participates in ultramarathons and regularly runs with his Aussie rescue dog.
